From the hood to the rear, every detail has been well taken care of in the Volkswagen Vento. It has been carefully sculpted. In this article, let’s have a look at the newly launched car and its fantastic features. Read on for the complete review of the Volkswagen Vento.
Variants:
The new car has been launched in the nation in both petrol and diesel versions as the Trendline and Highline variants. Yes the variant names are the same as the VW Polo, but the Comfortline wouldn’t be available in the new Vento.
Colours:
The Trendline comes in two colours Candy White for the ones who love or sophistication, and Flash Red for the showy young generation. The Highline variant comes with a wider choice of colours; Reflex Silver Metallic, Terra Beige Metallic, Shadow Blue Metallic and Deep Black Pearl.
Exteriors:
As mentioned earlier, every detail of the car has been given equal importance. The headlights have been gracefully designed and the front grille with chrome accentuation looks aggressive yet refined. The flawless finish that’s typical of a Volkswagen car is clearly visible in the Vento too. The body-coloured bumpers and glossy door handles enhance the Vento’s sophisticated profile.
The Highline variant comes with body-coloured mirrors too that simply merge with the brawny lines on the Vento’s body. There are areas in every car that are most likely to suffer scratches. VW has taken this into account while crafting the Vento which features a black base for that extra punch of protection in those areas.
The new car’s partially zinc-coated body has been backed by a six-year anti-rust warranty. That proves the Vento’s tough personality and the high ground clearance only adds to the car’s sportiness. Performance doesn’t take the back seat though. The Vento comes with lighter 15-inch alloy wheels that offer great ride quality and road handling.
Interiors:
Sophisticated interiors with classy upholstery and ample cabin space can make anyone fall for the newly launched Vento. Once again, it’s not just the beauty that attracts. The Vento comes with plenty of features.
There’s a storage compartment in the front door to store drinks. A 1-litre bottle easily fits in. There’s storage space for sunglasses too. The rear seat armrests Car Seat Baby Elle are foldable. Quality and sophistication are just exemplified through the foldable roof handles with coat hooks, cup holders and Livon fabric upholstery.
The interiors flaunt a multi-function display that keeps the driver updated about the fuel efficiency, maximum range before re-fuelling, performance figures, distance travelled, and features a visual door ajar warning too. SpaceMax control has been embedded for co-driver seat movement while the driver still sits back. The adjustable steering wheel adds to driver comfort and convenience.
The Vento features a CD MP3 player with 4 speakers. The Vento Highline has been equipped with added features. It comes with electrically adjustable outside mirrors, climatronic automatic A/C with rear A/C vents and a central locking remote control.
Safety:
As each and every detail has been taken care of, how can safety be missed out? The Vento is a rather safe car with its tough build explaining it each time the door or boot is shut. The Highline, once again, comes equipped with additional safety factors; ABS, airbags in the front for driver and co-driver, an anti-theft alarm with interior surveillance and back up alarm too.
Engine:
The Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) 16 valve, 1.6L petrol engine has been carved to deliver outstanding figures. It throws away 104 bhp of power at 5250 rpm and peak torque of 153 Nm at Car Sales Direct 3800 rpm. While the petrol engine delivers 15.8 kmpl for the manual and 14.4 kmpl for the automatic transmission, the Turbocharged Common Rail 1.6L diesel motor delivers 20.5 kmpl.
The diesel engine spews out 104 bhp of power at 4400 rpm and peak torque of 250 Nm from 1500 rpm to 2500 rpm. The diesel Vento possesses one of the most powerful motors on the Indian road. The Volkswagen Vento’s engines have been coupled with 5-speed manual transmission. The Highline variant, however, is also available with a 6-speed automatic slush box with Tiptronic gearshift function.
